美國民主黨總統候選人希拉蕊的夫婿、美國前總統柯林頓，26日在民主黨全代會上，稱讚妻子希拉蕊是促進變革的一股動力，更是長期追求社會正義的鬥士，呼籲民眾在11月總統大選時把票投給她。
柯林頓在希拉蕊獲得正式提名前，上台發表45分鐘演說，他告訴在場人士，希拉蕊對事物十分好奇，是「天生的領袖」，「只有她才能把握住機會，降低我們所面對的風險，而且她是我一生中見過的締造改變最佳人選。」
柯林頓說：「如果你們處在我的位置、聽過我每個晚餐、午餐和每次散步時所聽過的話，你們一定會說，這位女性從來沒有滿足於任何現狀。她總是希望讓球往前滾動，這就是她。」
柯林頓登台後，以回顧兩人當年剛萌芽的戀情開場，「1971年春天，我認識了一個女孩」，聽眾報以熱烈掌聲。他說，兩人念法學院時，希拉蕊就致力追求社會正義，並提到她如何為窮人提供法律協助。
柯林頓暗批共和黨總統候選人川普，和川普高談的改變願景，恭賀民主黨代表提名了「真實的」希拉蕊，真實的希拉蕊完全不是共和黨人所描繪的「卡通版」希拉蕊那樣。他說：「真實世界的生活是複雜的，真正的改變是困難的，許多人甚至覺得無聊。」
除了柯林頓，67歲好萊塢女星梅莉史翠普在眾星雲集的民主黨全代會上幫希拉蕊站台，稱希拉蕊足以在眾多創造歷史的美國女性中占有一席之地。
另外，包括莉娜杜漢姆（Lena Dunham）與DJ魔比等大約100位好萊塢演員及樂壇明星聯名請願，反對川普「充滿仇恨的意識形態」。
